ANAPEC and Actiris take action

As part of the bilateral cooperation between Morocco and Belgium, ANAPEC and Actiris, the public employment service in Brussels, signed a partnership agreement at a ceremony organized at the headquarters of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region on February 05, 2019 in Rabat.

This signature comes to implement the letter of agreement signed between the two institutions during the princely visit of November 28, 2018. It aims to set up a first pilot project with two specific and complementary objectives:

•The development and implementation of “Youth Guarantee”, based on the experience developed by Actiris in the Brussels-Capital Region. The Youth Guarantee will aim to provide employment solutions for all young jobseekers newly registered in ANAPEC in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region;

•Strengthening collaboration between public employment services and the local economic fabric, particularly through the training of specialized employment counselors for employers in charge of prospecting offers in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra Region.

This ceremony was also an opportunity for the Region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, represented by the President of the Region Mr Abdessamad Sekkal, and the Brussels-Capital Region, represented by the Minister-President of the Region, Mr. Rudi Vervoort, to sign a cooperation agreement around four main axes, namely the accessibility and connectivity of territories, territorial marketing, skills training and tourism entrepreneurship.

The new technologies for employment

On the sidelines of this event, Paul Duan, founder and president of Bayes Impact (an emerging startup of Silicon Valley in San Francisco), who accompanied the Belgian delegation, led a seminar at the International University of Rabat on February 7, 2019 on the theme "New technologies for employment". The discussion focused on new technologies that have the potential to improve the public service for every citizen, particularly in the field of job search and integration into working life.

Artificial intelligence, the keystone of these emerging technologies, has occupied much of the discussion with the presentation of the "Bob" solution that helps job seekers by giving them personalized advice. This solution analyzes the situation of the job seeker through a detailed diagnosis based on his profile and market data, and explores a multitude of avenues to highlight its qualities and strengths.
