Before summer holidays, in the frame of the WAPES Cooperation Fund, Croatian Employment Service experts visited the Department for Work and Pensions in London, United Kingdom. The main purpose of the study visit was to learn about and exchange practice in the fields of performance management and work with employers.
The Croatian experts met with colleagues from Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and some of the topics covered during their three-day mission were services to employers, training, partnerships, subcontracting services and process management and measurability. In addition, a visit was organised to a Job Centre Plus office to get an insight into the daily work of a local office, with focus on activities for job seekers and employers.
The Croatian experts returned home with many new ideas, some of them of special interest and inspiration for the Croatian Employment Service:
•Knowledge Hub – internal database of information, by topics and sectors, established for employee’s purposes
•Universal Credit which integrates all the benefits at the national level and enables their supervision
•Customer Journey Transformation Board – activity flow-chart with time framework attached
•Very user-friendly, clear and substantial material aimed at employees
•Specialised units working with employers and their close links with partners at the local and national level.
