WAPES was invited to participate to a discussion panel with GIZ, Pôle emploi and ANPE Togo (PES) during the Global South-South and Triangular Cooperation Expo organized by the United Nations at Dubaï (31 October to 3 November 2016).
The theme was: “Promoting youth entrepreneurship through triangular cooperation”
We also ran a booth with Pôle emploi, GIZ and ANPE Togo.
The idea was to present concrete actions about South-South and triangular cooperation.
Each institution presented some posters and flyers and ANPE Togo some products from new enterprises created by young people in the frame of the triangular project presented by Edmond Amoussou (PES’DG).
A lot of visitors have visited our booth and we had the chance to discuss with a large number of institutions interested in our activities.
South-south cooperation is a broad framework for collaboration among countries of the Global South in many domains. It’s the vehicle to accelerate development as it fosters partnerships among the developing countries, with the view of increasing volume and rate of south-south exchanges in development, trade, finance and technology transfer
The actual and potential contribution of south-south and triangular cooperation to the achievement of 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda is thus catching more and more attention.
The South-south Development Expo is a platform for displaying and scaling up development initiatives while leveraging the complementary strengths of all institutional partners in addressing global and regional challenges. It highlights successful Southern-grown development solutions and cooperation opportunities toward attaining the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
