WAPES Academy: 34 advisers receive training in Yaoundé

The training of trainers for the deployment of the African Job Search Guide opened on Wednesday 11 December 2024, following the jury’s defence of the certification of the achievements of the 6th training session for employment advisers.

34 advisers representing 10 PES in the Africa region are taking on board the work of the community of practice, which, following the recommendations of the 6th session in September 2023, embarked on a major project, lasting several months, to formalise and standardise the methods and tools made available to advisers in the field.

This work has now resulted in 3 guides being made available to the PES and the organisation of this 3-day seminar in Yaoundé, with the support of teams from the FNE in Cameroon and the ANPE in Mali..

The training course was designed and run by Françoise Bibi Belinga, consultant and former FNE executive, Faouziatou Dandi (FNE Cameroon) and Belco Pathé Tamboura (ANPE Mali). Coordination is provided jointly by Mr Bréhima Noumbari Sidibé ( AASEP Coordinator – ANPE Mali) and Mr Thierry Huort, WAPES consultant.

This activity is part of the policy pursued jointly by AASEP and the WAPES Africa region of sharing and building together to standardise practices within the African PES network and adapt them to the specific realities of the region’s labour market.

This work is supported at a high level by the joint presence of Mr Ibrahim Ag Nock, Director General of Mali, President of AASEP and Vice-President of the WAPES Africa region, and Mr Camille Mouté à Bidias, Director General of the FNE in Cameroon and Honorary President of WAPES.

The organising team and the executive secretariat would like to thank them and would also like to underline the commitment of the PES leaders involved in this operation, who, despite the constraints, made it possible for the advisers to travel to Yaoundé.

Thierry Huort, WAPES consultant
