How can I get in contact with other members?

Answer: As a member you could participate in WAPES’ events and activities. The most important purpose of WAPES is to be the world reference for public employment services and a global network for benchmarking, meetings, and workshops. You could also find contact information to members under the headline “Members” in the header of every page of the website.

Finally, you have access to our social network exclusively reserved for members of our association.

Where can I find out which members are well developed in certain areas?

Answer: Via a dedicated directory in the members area of ​​our website, you will be able to identify them. An other way to find out this is to participate in our events and activities in the topic you are interested in. Please, see all our events under the headline “Events” in the header of every page of the website. WAPES is also conducting surveys in the area of public employment services, together with OECD or ILO.

As a member, could I get help with certain problems within the public employment service in my country?

Answer: Our exclusive social network allows you to ask your questions and be in contact with our members, your peers, your colleagues from all over the world. As a member you could also participate in our events and activities to benchmark with other public employment services in your own region or in another region. WAPES also have a cooperation fund for different projects aimed to contribute to the development in the area of public employment services in some of our regions.

What is the cost for making an event?

Answer: A WAPES event demands financial and personnel resources as well as infrastructure, experience and knowhow. But, there are different types and sizes of events, depending of the region and the topic. Every region makes tri-annual plans for their activities. Should we have an online event as well? How do we decide on that?

Answer: There are different types of WAPES events, depending of the region and the topic. Face-to-face, online or hybrid conferences are organized throughout the year. The presentations are also possible to see after these events thanks to online videos.

Can I get some financial support to go to an event?

Answer: WAPES has a cooperation fund that sometimes could be used for members in certain regions to go to events. But there are strict rules when using the support from the cooperation fund. Can WAPES help me find a good topic for the event/training?

Does WAPES have access to international funds?

Answer: WAPES has a cooperation fund for different projects aimed to contribute to the development in the area of public employment services in some of our regions. We also work with other organisations, like ILO (International Labour Organization), IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) and GIZ in certain projects.

What is the added value of WAPES?

Answer: WAPES is the only global network for decision-makers in the field of public employment service and adds value in the fields of employment, migration and education by benchmarking within and between world regions.

Who are the decision makers of WAPES?

What is the difference between WAPES and ILO?

Answer: The ILO is a United Nations agency and one of the initiative takers to WAPES. ILO still has the role as an observer within WAPES. WAPES is a member organisation for public employment agencies and the ILO works in setting labour standards, developing policies and devising programmes.

For how long has our organisation been a member?

Answer: Even if your organisation was a member before, the legal form of our organisation changed in 2012. That’s why most of our members became members in 2012 or later.
