Director IV·Philippine Department of Labor and Employment – Bureau of Local Employment
Mr. Patrick P. Patriwirawan, Jr. is the head of the Bureau of Local Employment. He was appointed as Director IV in January 2023, with the mandate to promote decent work in the country through the development and management of employment policies, programs, and services based on timely and accurate labor market information.
Prior to his appointment as Bureau Director, he served as a policy researcher for 10 years at the Institute for Labor Studies, focusing on worker displacement and employment protection, sector-specific labor market analysis, and overseas employment since 2012. He also served as a Lecturer at the University of the Philippines Manila for nine years.
Director Patriwirawan holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of the Philippines Diliman and a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines Manila. He has been registered in the roster of Career Executive Service Eligibles since 2019 and was appointed with the rank of CESO III on 13 May 2024.
