The National Employment Agency (NEA, Royal Government of Cambodia) and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW, Government of Japan) had a kick-off meeting of Japan-WAPES Joint Project. The primary objectives of this meeting were: (1) fact finding and analysis of the status quo; and (2) planning.

NEA and MHLW had previously identified the project should focus on strengthening service quality and improving customer satisfaction through institutional development.

During the kick-off meeting, participants agreed practical steps to develop a Performance Assessment Framework and Customer Satisfaction methodology to bridge the gap between labour market policy intentions and PES activities in Cambodia.
