Webinar: Empowering Labour Markets through Convention 88 and Employer Outreach

Empowering Labour Markets through Convention 88 and Employer Outreach: A Global Perspective.

Adopted in 1948, Convention 88 has been ratified by numerous countries worldwide. ts primary objective is to establish a comprehensive system of public employment services that offer guidance and support to job seekers in finding work, while also assisting employers in recruiting the right individuals for their businesses.

To find out more, watch our webinar, Empowering Labour Markets through Convention 88 and Employer Outreach: A Global Perspective , which took place on September 26 at 10 a.m. (CET).

The primary focus of this webinar was on the successful outreach efforts of Public Employment Services (PES) to employers, aligning with Convention 88 and Convention 181 of the International Labour Organization (ILO). The webinar content was based on international evidence and aimed to provide practical insights into collaboration. Specifically, it emphasized how PES, in accordance with Convention 88, can actively assist employers in their search for diverse talent pools, including apprentices, trainees, young professionals, and individuals with disabilities.

We extend our gratitude to our esteemed speakers, Anna-Karin Palm Olsson, Technical Specialist on Labour Market Services at the International Labour Organization (ILO), and Dr. Jo Ingold, Associate Professor of Human Resource Management at Deakin Business School, for sharing their valuable insights.
