Reforming public employment services, a priority for WAPES
As part of the WAPES Europe regional agenda, a series of 6 webinars on public employment service reforms was launched on January the 23th.
The series is the result of close collaboration between WAPES, France Travail, the OECD and the European Commission‘s DG for Structural Reform Support.
Introduced by Sandrine Portier ( France Travail), the webinar was divided into :
- a presentation of the contextual factors influencing the transformation of PES, an overview of the issues of concern to PES and the tools used, particularly in the EU context, by Theodora Xeogiani of theOECD‘s Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, and Elisa Gomez Aleman of the Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support.
- Alex Gordon from the Australian Department of Education and Employment and Anna Delibasheva from the Bulgarian National Employment Agency were also on hand to share their experiences.

– Tuesday, March 5, 2024 11.30am – 12.15pm (CET): The changing role of employment advisers and their place in the organisation.
– Tuesday, April 2, 2024 11.30am – 12.15pm (CET): Digitalisation of services, remote services, work formats (impact of teleworking, office sharing and working from home, etc.).
– Tuesday, April 30, 2024 11.30am – 12.15pm (CET): Internal transformation processes within PES (organisational change, skills development, innovation, new management strategies) and the role of impact assessments.
– Tuesday, May 28 2024 11:30 – 12:15 (CET): Cooperation with external service providers in the provision of employment services (subcontracting, outsourcing issues).
– Tuesday, June 25 2024 11:30 – 12:15 (CET) : The role of PES in responding to global megatrends (economic restructuring, skills shortages, unemployment prevention, etc.).
