AASEP Annual General Meeting: Renewal of governance and important resolutions adopted
Participants at the AASEP Ordinary General Meeting, held on 5 May 2025 at the Onomo Hôtel Airport in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, passed a number of important resolutions, including the renewal of governance with a 3rd mandate for Mali, through the Director General of the ANPE, Mr Ibrahim Ag Nock, as Vice-Chairman of AMSEP and Chairman of AASEP.
The new Articles of Association, which take into account the creation of the Permanent Secretariat, were adopted unanimously by the members present. The President’s report on activities in 2022-2025 was also approved, and the Executive Committee meeting scheduled for 3 June 2025 in Geneva, on the sidelines of the 113th International Labour Conference, was mandated to rule on and settle all other matters that had not been settled. These include the Treasurer’s (ANPE Niger) and Auditor’s (PNPE Gabon) reports; the definitive fixing of an amount for the annual membership fee; and the appointment of the other members of the Executive Committee, among others.
It should be noted that the African representatives on the Board of Directors of Amsep have been elected. They are Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Chad and Zimbabwe. Benin has been asked to remain as Internal Auditor. As for the positions of AASEP vice-presidents in the sub-regions, they are occupied by Côte d’Ivoire for West Africa, Chad for Central Africa and the one for Southern Africa will be designated by the Executive Committee in Geneva.
