On September 3rd, 2025, we bid farewell to our dear colleague Thierry Huort, who officially concludes his mission at WAPES.

Seconded from France Travail, the French Public Employment Service, Thierry has over the years made an enormous contribution to strengthening the WAPES network. With patience, commitment, and tireless energy, he became a trusted partner for our members—particularly across the African and Middle-East and Arabic Countries (MEAC) regions—where he built strong bridges of cooperation and solidarity.

His most recent achievement was the successful organization of the WAPES World Congress in Abidjan, a milestone remembered not only for its rich content but also for its symbolic moments—such as Thierry’s role in crowning the “King of WAPES.”

On behalf of the entire WAPES family, we express our deepest gratitude for Thierry’s dedication, professionalism, and the warmth he brought to our daily work. He leaves behind a lasting legacy within our network, and we wish him every success and happiness in the future.
