Improving PES human resources: AASEP continues the tradition.
Since Monday 08 September 2025, the Mansel Hotel in Yaoundé (Cameroon) has been the venue for the 7th Training Session for Employment Advisers from the Public Employment Services (PES) of the member countries of the African Association of Public Employment Services (AASEP), a branch of the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES) for the Sub-Saharan Africa Region, under the theme : THE JOB COUNSELLOR (CE): UNDERSTANDING THE JOB MARKET, FOR A BETTER STRATEGY FOR JOBSEEKERS’ PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION”.
For two (02) weeks, from 8 to 20 September 2025, 53 participants from some fifteen AASEP member countries will be immersed in the world of the labour market, firstly to gain a better understanding of it, and secondly to learn more about the techniques for managing their targets, i.e. Jobseekers and Employers, particularly in the formal and informal sectors, to ensure quality employment.
We will be coming back shortly to the details of this AASEP initiative, with the clear vision of its President, Mr Ibrahim AG NOCK, Director General of ANPE Mali, and the constant and unfailing support of the WAPES/AASEP Honorary President, Director General of FNE, Mr MOUTE à BIDIAS Camille, and the invaluable support of the WAPES Executive Secretariat.
The official opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday 9 September 2025 under the patronage and effective presidency of Cameroon’s Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Mr Mounouna FOUTSOU.
This session marks the start of a process that will culminate, in a few months’ time, in a Certification that will turn the beneficiaries into Trainers of Employment Advisers at the level of their various PES.
The course is led by 4 leading labour market experts accredited by WAPES/AASEP.
