National Employment Agency of the Republic of Moldova (ANOFM) celebrates 35 years of service to employment
On 18 February 2026, the National Employment Agency of the Republic of Moldova (ANOFM) marks its 35th anniversary — a milestone that represents far more than the passage of time. Thirty-five years reflect thousands of lives supported, careers rebuilt, opportunities created, and employers guided toward the right talent.
Over the decades, the Agency has become a trusted pillar of Moldova’s labour market, contributing to greater inclusion, stronger employability and more resilient communities across the country .
Adapting, modernising, bringing services closer to users
As Moldova has undergone significant economic, social and demographic changes, ANOFM has consolidated its role in active labour market policies by combining support, activation and inclusion. Among the key levers highlighted on this anniversary:
- job intermediation and employment facilitation;
- vocational training programmes;
- support for entrepreneurship and local job-creation initiatives;
- subsidies for employers recruiting people from vulnerable groups;
- dedicated programmes for young people and persons with disabilities;
- local outreach services, including self-service spaces and mobile teams in remote areas;
- digital services, including a rapid information chatbot.
As underlined in the video message from the Executive Secretary of WAPES, what particularly stands out is the Agency’s capacity to evolve — modernising its services, embracing innovation and continuously learning through cooperation and exchange, while always keeping people at the centre of its mission
Digital acceleration and international partnerships
In recent years, ANOFM has strengthened its modernisation efforts through national and international partnerships. A notable example is the launch of the angajat.md portal in 2022, facilitating online matching between candidates and employers.
In 2026, the Agency also announced a dedicated budget to support the creation of micro-enterprises by registered job seekers, reinforcing activation through entrepreneurship.
Since joining the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES) in 2007, ANOFM has been an active and constructive member of the global network. Its engagement also extends to regional cooperation initiatives such as CPESSEC, reflecting Moldova’s strong commitment to international collaboration among Public Employment Services .
At WAPES, cooperation between Public Employment Services is seen as a way to build trust across borders and develop better solutions for citizens — a shared vision to which Moldova meaningfully contributes
